
Friends of Lake Turkana is registered as a Community Trust and consists of a volunteer Executive Committee, which oversees the everyday functioning of the organization.
The Lake Turkana Group is a composed of individuals and organisations whose primary objective is the conservation of Lake Turkana and its resources. This group will be a central point for updating constituents and concerned parties on the happenings and actions around Lake Turkana.
The Lamu Port and Lamu-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) forum is a place where concerned individuals and organisations can discuss the progress and environmental impact of the LAPSSET corridor project. The LAPSSET corridor, also known as the Lamu Corridor, is a transport and infrastructure project in Kenya that when complete will be the country's second transport corridor after the corridor from Mombasa Port through Nairobi to Uganda. Apart from the threat of conflict between communities owing to land desputes as speculative landgrabbing has already been reported in Wamba, Merti, Laiasmais, Isiolo Garbatula and Tigania East along the proposed corridor, the environmental and cultural damage could be extensive all the way from Lamu to Turkana. This group will share updates, news, discussions and government bills concerning the corridor and effects on environment and communities.
The Turkana Natural Resources Group is a group of professionals and practitioners whose interest is the conservation and wise use of the natural resources of Turkana County and sorrounding areas. This hub we will share scientific studies, news, reports, government bills and commentaries about the natural resources in the greater Turkana area. This is also a hub is open for comments and discussions about what is shared.
